The warehouse survey identified the areas under the roof that required Asbestos Insulating Board removal. The warehouse is an ATEX-rated area due to the alcohol content of the whisky barrels, which are racked in sections to reach their level of maturity. Radmat worked with Starfish Construction, carrying out a condensation risk analysis and designing a cut-to-fall system that was fit for purpose, meeting the necessary U-values to comply with building regulations.
After our moisture scanning process confirmed this roof had failed, the entire roof was stripped back to deck and replaced with a high-performance quality felt system. Redundant chimneys and debris were safely removed, and a new handrail and access system was designed for all roof areas.
