The Client
Cushman and Wakefield are one of the UK’s leading Commercial Property and Real Estate Consultants. They approached Starfish Construction Group to refurbish one of their existing offices in West George Street, Glasgow, with a desire to produce a high-quality environment, to maximise the property value through letting.
Our project managers worked closely with Cushman and Wakefield to develop a suitable programme of works, scheduling several areas of refurbishment, and delivering within the demands of a 5-week requested project completion.
The Project
The project was managed by a dedicated Senior SMSTS Project Manager who communicated regularly with the client to discuss and review the process of the programme, producing weekly update reports. On this particular project, our full-time SSSTS Site Supervisor was on-site daily to oversee the works and undertaking of quality inspections, managing all areas. We completed all aspects of the internal refurbishment works directly, with our employed painters, plasterers, plumbers, electricians and general tradespeople.

Challenges and Solutions
Initial works required the assessment of the current condition of property areas. All preparation work was completed, with walls stripped and sanded, and the removal of the existing suspended ceiling. We also prepared all areas for the windows and walls to be painted and installed a new suspended ceiling. Our effective schedule of works was vital in ensuring the smooth transition from preparation work, to each individual trade work.
Outcome
As you will see from the associated images, the final outcome of the property was a great success. The new suspended ceiling and building lighting, along with high-quality plastering and painting brought a bright and fresh look to the offices and communal areas. We also managed all aspects of emergency lighting throughout the property for the client and fitted carpet tiles. Our client was delighted with our works and end product, providing them with a re-invented and re-purposed property for the future.
